Mission:
The mission of the Department of Physics at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is to equip students with a solid foundation in physics, experimental, analytical, and computational skills, as well as the ability to solve both old and new problems. This mission is carried out within an academic community that values common principles, shares goals, is open to innovation, and is characterized by mutual respect, love, and social responsibility. The department aims to be a strong focal point for lifelong learning, research activities leading to new knowledge generation, academic work in line with the country's interests, and national and international programs with undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. The department specializes in the sub-disciplines of General Physics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Solid-State Physics, Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics, and High Energy and Plasma Physics. It strives to produce graduate students who can develop new methods in a specific area within one of these sub-disciplines, apply a known method to a new field, conduct independent research, and carry out scientific research in line with the needs and priorities of the country. Additionally, it aims to educate physicists who are competent in computer and information technologies, possess fundamental physics knowledge, and can effectively communicate this knowledge to others.
